Greta Van Fleet announces Ally Pally-inspired new album

A COUPLE of months ago they would have had us believe they were done – but Zeppelin soundalikes Greta Van Fleet will release their fourth album in October.

In May the band posted “thanks for the wild ride” on social media, leading to the inevitable speculation. But now they’ve announced that Palace For The People is due on October 9 and a single, “Saw You Stand”, has also dropped.

The track follows “Play Your Games,” released in May, which quickly allayed the breakup concerns.
“Saw You Stand” begins as a soft piano ballad before intensifying about a minute in, as singer Josh Kiszka’s vocals reach a soaring falsetto.
The album was recorded in Tennessee in the spring of 2026 and co-produced by the band with Mike Elizondo, whose credits include Turnstile, Fiona Apple and Eminem. The track listing has not been revealed.
In quotes provided by the band’s PR team, guitarist Jake Kiszka said: “As much as it is a Greta Van Fleet record and a rock and roll record at its core, in its heart, it’s a very modern record.”
Singer Josh Kiszka adds: “We love each other just as much as ever, if not more, because we’ve got to spend quality time together off of the road. We’ve grown closer, and we have more to say and share than ever.”
Drummer Danny Wagner contributed: “The minute the four of us step into a room with the shared goal of creating, there is very little that can stop us.”
According to the media release, the album title draws from the band’s 2022 world tour, during which they headlined London’s Alexandra Palace – known colloquially as Ally Pally – before selling out Wembley Arena.
A friend described the elaborate grandeur of this Victorian-era “palace,” originally named “The Palace of the People”.
Unlike most lavish buildings of the time, this one wasn’t created for the monarchs nor the wealthy aristocrats but for everyone to “escape and wonder,” a truly modern concept for the time.
According to the narrative, band members began to wonder what a palace for the people would mean mean today? And how do we get there?

Bassist and keyboardist Sam Kiszka said: “I can’t tell you how many people have come up to me and said ‘this is my best friend. We met through your music or at your show’ and we realised the music is our palace!”
