AMYL and the Sniffers bassist Gus Romer is taking a break from touring for the rest of 2026.
The Aussie punk zeitgeist-gropers chose Instagram stories to announce the news. A stand-in was named and 30-year-old Romer is definitely not leaving the band.
“Hey everyone, just wanted to let everybody know that I’m taking some time off the road this year,” Romer wrote.
“I’m alright and nothing to worry about. Lakota from Public Figures is stepping in to help us out on the tours this year, so make her feel welcome. I’ll see you all in 2027. Gus.”
Amyl are off to North America next month and Europe a few weeks after that.
This Friday there’ll be a 10th anniversary release commemorating the band’s first two EPs.
Amyl and the Sniffers have had “Giddy Up/Big Attraction” re-mastered and reissued in a double gatefold sleeve with photos and an essay from Amy Taylor herself. Also available on CD, pre-orders are now available
