WHEN Guns N’Roses played Eastern Creek and Calder raceways in 1993 – which some of our readers still think of as Australia’s Woodstock – it was common knowledge that it was being filmed for a documentary.
In fact, no expense was being spared with a film crew following the band as it flew into the Sydney venue by helicopter.
Then, nothing. None of the footage was ever seen.
Until now.
A portion of that movie, called Perfect Crime, has been posted on YouTube with little explanation.
It was put up by a Chile-based channel called “Rockstar” and is described as a “Movie promo – VHS”.
There is upclose footage of the band walking off stage in Sacramento on April 3, 1993 when Duff McKagan is hit in the head with a bottle and Dizzy Reed is interviewed in Auckland.
There’s also some quite epic live footage from a Rose Bowl show, filmed at the Pasadena Rose Bowl and interviews with all band members along with parties, backstage and hotel room interludes.
Check it out below and tell us what you make of it. Do you see any other ‘Down Under’ content?
