HUNTINGTON Beach’s finest, Avenged Sevenfold, are expected to announce their Australian tour as soon as tomorrow (Tuesday).
The whispers began when the metal giants announced a South East Asian tour for the end of the year that brings them as close to our shores as Indonesia. They’ve not been here in 14 years.
Next up was an LED display near Federation Square in the the Melbourne CBD, apparently booked by Rod Laver Arena; the words “We Love You” adorned the band logo.
And finally there has been a Live Naion New Zealand Instagram post today (Monday) with a map of Australia and the words “see you tomorrow”.
Avenged Sevenfold played Soundwave in 2014 and haven’t been sighted on our shores since. The Asian tour wraps up in Singapore on October 13 so expect them to lob down our way straight after that.
Billboard advertising has also been seen in Sydney and Melbourne but – frustratingly for locals elsewhwere – there’s been little to indicate they’ll be straying far from the East Coast.
Their most recent album is 2023’s Life Is But A Dream... and it’s that artwork that has inspired the art of the promos seen so far.
Rod Laver Arena said in a post: “you didn’t think they’d stay away forever, did you?”
