TAYLOR Momsen says she has taken to crochet as a stress reliever – and you won’t believe where she picked up the skill.
“My new obsession is crocheting,” the Pretty Reckless singer told Sirius XM.
“I find it very meditative. You crochet for an hour and think in silence or with music and that’s a break. And it works for me so I’m cool with that.
“Yes, knitting. Someone from AC/DC taught me to crochet on the first tour and it’s become an obsession of mine in a way that I can’t believe I haven’t done it my whole life.
“I’m fully addicted to it. It’s a new meditation tactic for me …. just endless blankets. I can make endless blankets.”
Momsen, 32, did not tell interviewer Eddie Trunk whether her teacher was a band member of the Australian legends – who she can proudly say she’s been on tour with for ‘three birthdays’ – or part of the crew and he did not ask.
With a new album on the way, Momsen says she has also learned to box and would like to eventually go beyond sparring with her personal trainer.
“I’ve been doing it for the last five years but I broke my wrist so I can’t box at the moment,” she said. “The heavy bag, I hit it too hard and shattered my wrist.
“I’m wearing a brace.
“I have not boxed someone else yet. But I would. I’m not afraid of getting hit. Let’s go.”
The former actress also revealed she will pick out a person in the audience at the AC/DC shows who looks bored – and take it upon herself to impress them.
“I’ve looked at it like a challenge – if I can see someone who’s waiting, I call it the waiting face, I just make it my mission to ‘I’m going to make you like this’ by the end of it,” she said.
“And so far I’ve succeeded.”
