BILLY Rowe says he will be absent when the band he co-founded 41 years ago tours Australia for the first time this month.
The Bay Area guitarist broke the news to Hot Metal backstage at the O2 Academy in Islington this weekend, saying his commitments to Buckcherry would preclude him playing the indoor festival which hits Melboune February 16, Brisbane February 17 and Sydney February 18.
“I am not going with them,” said Rowe, who will be replaced by Keith Robert Warr.
“It’s because I’m out here with Buckcherry right now. I do shows with Jetboy that I can do and the ones that I can’t, we have a guy whose name is Keith.
“He’s played with Twisted Sister. He fits right in perfect.
“I’ll do more shows. Unfortunately I’m crossing paths with being in the UK and in Europe right when they go over there. We can’t pass up opportunities like this.
“It’s the same promoters that Buckcherry went over with last year so they understand. The will deliver an awesome rock’n’roll set.”
