DRUMMER Joe Longobardi has parted ways with The Amity Affliction.

After eight years behind the kit with the chart-topping Gympie-founded band, Longobardi announced his departure via an Instagram post.

“I feel extremely grateful and fortunate to have spent those years with the band,” he wrote. “I wish Johnny,Dan and Joel along with the crew nothing but the very best moving forward. It’s been an incredible journey. Thank you all for the love. See you out there.”

Longobardi, who also plays in US band Defeater, joined TAA as a touring member in 2018 following the departure of Ryan Burt and was soon made a permanent member. He recorded four albums with the band, Misery, Everyone Loves You… Once You Leave Them, Not Without My Ghosts and this year’s House of Cards.

The Amity Affliction, who by now must be almost as recognised for their revolving door of musicians as for their string of Top 5 albums, has yet to make a formal announcement on Longobardi’s departure.
