SWEDISH proggers Soen have already announced rescheduled dates after an undisclosed family emergency forced them to postpone when they were at Stockholm Airport checking in to come to Melbourne.
They immediately recorded a video apologising to fans and now the replacement gigs have been announced.
It all kicks off on January 16 at Crowbar in Brisbane and moves through Sydney and Melbourne over the next two days.
Soen is a Swedish progressive metal band that was officially formed in 2010, though its origins trace back to collaborations beginning in 2004.
The current lineup features vocalist Joel Ekelöf, drummer Martin Lopez (formerly of Opeth), multi-instrumentalist Lars Åhlund, guitarist Cody Lee Ford and bassist Stefan Stenberg.
Their debut album, Cognitive, was released in 2012 and drew early comparisons to Tool for its intricate rhythms and atmospheric approach.
Subsequent releases such as Tellurian (2014), Lykaia (2017), Lotus (2019), Imperial (2021) and Memorial (2023) refined a sound blending progressive metal, alternative metal and melodic elements with introspective lyrics.
The band’s music is characterised by complex yet accessible compositions that emphasise emotional depth, technical precision and a balance of heaviness and melancholy.
In January 2026 Soen issued their seventh studio album, Reliance, continuing their exploration of personal and societal themes.
Signed to Silver Lining Music, the group maintains an active presence through touring and has built a dedicated international following within the progressive metal scene.
