"Decision was not of my making" - Mark Evans not touring Europe with Rose Tattoo

FORMER AC/DC bass player Mark Evans says he’s been excluded without consultation from Rose Tattoo’s upcoming tour of Europe and the UK.

Evans, 66, has been in the Australian biker rock pioneers since 2017. In making the announcement he would not be travelling to Europe, he retained photos of himself with the band on social media, suggesting he had not departed completely.

“It is with much sadness that l inform you today that l am not coming to Europe and UK with Rose Tattoo next week, as planned and previously advertised,” Evans wrote.

“This decision (made known to me only recently) was not of my making. l apologise to those who have (or may be) inconvenienced by this sudden change up.

“l wish the band well on the tour. Cheers! Mark Evans. PS. Any bands out there in need of a slightly used bass player? It appears my diary may now be clear…”

It’s not the first time in recent years a core member has been excluded from an overseas tour. The twice postponed US trek did not involve guitarist Bob Spencer.

It wad eventually cancelled completely due to Covid complications.

Singer Angry Anderson owns the Rose Tattoo brand and is thought to employ the other members.

Evans played was a member of AC/DC between 1973 and 1977, playing on such standards as “Jailbreak”, “Let There Be Rock”, “High Voltage” and “Dirty Deeds (Done Dirt Cheap)”.

Rose Tattoo’s tour starts at the Kusters Hot Open Air in Germany on July 8.
