MELBOURNE melodic metal veterans Vanishing Point have a new album on the way and have provided a taste through the single “Bring Me The Night”.
Eremition will be released on November 20 and the seven inch, “Bring Me The Night” can be heard below.
Six years after Dead Elysium, the band’s seventh studio album arrives with the group prioritising quality over quantity, according to long-term guitarist Chris Porcianko.
“‘Bring Me The Night’ is about not letting other people’s negative emotions and actions steer your direction in life,” he said in a media release.
“It’s high energy, heavy, and very melodic, with a big 80’s AOR influence, all presented in the characteristic Vanishing Point style.”
Porcianko said the new collection explores themes of loss, gain, realisation, understanding, letting go and moving forward without clinging to negative energies.
“We feel we owe it to ourselves and to our fans everywhere to bring something truly special to light, something that sits perfectly within the long legacy that Vanishing Point has.”
Across six previous albums since their 1997 debut In Thought, the group has built a catalogue defined by huge melodies, soaring vocals, heavy guitars and cinematic atmosphere.
That sound has taken them on tours through Europe and Japan, performances in the United States and shared stages with acts including Iron Maiden, Nightwish, Helloween and Dragonforce.
They were also the first unsigned Australian band to appear at Wacken Open Air.
