QUEENS OF The Stone Age will have an entirely new album out by the time they hit Australia and New Zealand in December, it has been revealed.
The innovative rockers have announced Perfecth, their ninth studio album, set for release on October 30. The announcement was accompanies by a second single, “Insignificant Other”, which you can hear below.
“Nothing in this world is perfect, but everything seems to be ‘perfecth’,” frontman Josh Homme said in a statement. “And that title is funny when you’re in a group, but it ain’t so funny when you’re alone.”
QOTS previously released the single “Easy Street” and then, bizarrely, launched a complaints line for anyone with gripes against them.
They released a gory video suggesting the new album might arrive earlier, in September.
Of the new single, Homme says: “It’s a song about distance, about how someone can be your entire world only to simply vanish. And about the strange vertigo of being on the receiving end of that.
“Every song sounds like it’s from a different world. And that’s on purpose, because it’s trying to stitch together all these emotions revolving around love, lust, foolishness, and the sort of wisdom that comes as a gift from all that.”
