FORMER Screaming Jets guitarist Grant Walmsley has provided an update after a popular Newcastle musician was stabbed outside a bowling club.
Greg Bryce, 69, is a member of local band DV8; he was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his chest and back and a punctured lung overnight Sunday following an attack at Club Merewether on Caldwell Street. He had just performed a solo gig.
Yury Skrynnik, 53, of Stockton was charged with attempted murder and contravening an apprehended domestic violence order – indicating Bryce knew him.
“Just want you all to know that our brother Greg Bryce is doing OK,” Walmsley wrote on social media.
“He is under great care, and being well looked after by the hospital team and family. He’s in a good state, and knows and feels everyone’s well wishes and love.
