IN 2016, near the end of an illuminating interview with ex-Runaway Cherie Currie, we decided to ask her a deep and meaningful question.
She had experienced the dizzying heights of fame as a teenager, suffered from violence and exploitation, worked as a drug and alcohol counsellor, become a “chainsaw artist” and also been cancelled for political views.
What would she tell her younger self if she had the chance?
“Number one, don’t ever ask anybody’s opinion,” she said. “And if they give you their opinion, don’t listen to them”
