AFTER the first Hellbound cruise sold out almost in the blink of an eye, a second was announced without a single band being confirmed for it.

Now that confirmation has come with Aussie heroes Parkway Drive again the headliners, supported by Gympie legends The Amity Affliction and Tasmania’s Alpha Wolf. Rounding out the top line of the ad mat is I Killed the Prom Queen and Thy Art Is Murder.

Next year’s ship is the Carnival Spendour and the sailing dates out of Sydney are January 17 to 21.

Further acts on the bill are: Banks Arcade (NZ), Closure, Dead City Ruins, Down and Out, Elm Street, Future Static, Gravemind, Heavensgate, Hei’An (SVN), Major Arcana, Mammal, Maple’s Pet Dinosaur, Mirrors, No Apologies, Ocean Grove, RedHook, Rocky’s Pride & Joy, Starve plus Taking Back Saturday DJs and stage host MANO.

The promoters are theme cruise purveyors Choose Your Cruise and they said they had no choice but to announce a second Hellbount when the first sold out in a company-record 15 minutes.

Once more there will be multiple stages on board, theme nights and what is described as “curated activities for metal fans”.

This year’s cruise, which sails in October, features Parkway Drive, Polaris, Northlane and The Butterfly Effect. It will stop at Moreton Island.

Choose Your Cruise CEO Marius Els was quoted as saying: “This is one of the most exciting lineups we have put together across all genres of over almost 50 themed cruises hosted by CYC.

“Mick [Manov, CEO] and I were stoked to have the opportunity to invite Parkway Drive back on board after the blinding launch of the first Hellbound. Parkway Drive’s global achievements and successes continue to set new boundaries for this band.”

Rock music cruises are huge business in the northern hemisphere but a comparitive newcomer to the Australian market.
