THRASH titans Megadeth will stage a global cinema takeover the day before their final album comes out.
A movie called Megadeth: Behind The Mask will screen in theatres across 35 countries on January 22 – and then on the 23rd, their eponymous record is unveiled. Well, actually it will be unveiled in the cinema because the movie is basically a fancy listening party.
Band principal Dave Mustaine promises a documentary-style presentation with a focus on the new album, which precedes a final lap of the globe for an outfit formed in 1983.
In a media release, Mustaine said: “This listening event is going to be amazing. I can’t wait to share it with thousands of my closest friends around the world… Now let’s fire this up… and pass the popcorn!”
A couple of songs have already been released from the album but the interesting aspect of the track listing is that it will feature a version of “Ride The Lightning”, a song Mustaine co-wrote before being fired from Metallica!
If you’re interested in going to the film, you can check locations at megadethfilm.com
