IT didn’t get off the ground – in fact it was still in the hangar – but Parkway Drive’s own festival has imploded.
The Byron legends announced in July they would be touring with bands they loved – such as The Amity Affliction, Northlane and Alpha Wolf – in Oz during March 2026 but on Tuesday came the announcement.
Promoters Destroy All Lines said: “We’re devastated to confirm the Park Waves Festival Australian tour will not go ahead.
“The cancellation is due to a combination of challenges and ultimately, the numbers no longer stack up. With a heavy heart, we’ve had to make a difficult decision. We’ve tried everything. We’re gutted.
“We know everyone will be understandably disappointed. The ticket price and booking fees will be refunded, and more information will be sent to ticketholders via email.
“To anyone who bought tickets, and to everyone who keeps showing up for live music – thank you.”
It’s just another blow to an Australian touring and festival scene that sometimes seems to exist on a wing and a prayer – to labour the aeronautical metaphor – by announcing things first, putting the finger in the wind, and then washing those same hands if the breeze does not blow in the right direction.
