WITH Poison unable to tour this this year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their debut album, drummer Rikki Rockett has picked up the mantle.
Singer Bret Michaels declined to join Rockett, guitarist CC DeVille and bassist Bobby Dall on tour to celebrate Look What The Cat Dragged IN coming out in 1986.
But Rockett Mafia played the album in full last Friday at the Whiskey A Go Go in West Hollywood.
Rockett Mafia consists of its eponymous leader, singer and guitarist Brandon Gibbs, guitarist Stacey Blades and bassist Michael Adams.
Friday’s performance was far from a surprise; the band has been playing the album in full across the United States since May, opening the tour on May 21 in McHenry, Illinois. The 65-year-old skinsman billed the tour as Look What The Mob Dragged In.
Announcing the tour in a video message, he said: “IWe’re gonna perform everything, from the first chord to the last scream of that record, plus more, some fan favourites.
“But we’re not gonna stop there. We’re gonna offer some really cool VIP packages where you can, of course, meet the band, take a picture, come to a soundcheck, signed merch, all kinds of really cool stuff.
