WHEN we spoke to Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell backstage at Sheffield’s Corporation in December 2016, his battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma had been ongoing for three years.
After declaring himself cancer free in early 2026, he revealed in August the illness was back. Campbell continues to be an inspiration for everyone facing similar hurdles, refusing to be defined by his illnes
On that cold Friday, he told us: “I’ve always been a very positive person but when I got my cancer diagnosis back in 2013, I think it was, it really did kind of heighten that emotion in me.
“I do realise even moreso than ever how fortunate I’ve been in my life and how fortunate I am still and each and every day is an absolute joy.”
