ROSE Tattoo has confirmed that Angry Anderson is recovering in hospital following a heart attack.
Earlier this month the band cancelled the remainder of their European tour after reporting that Angry had been hospitalised for an undisclosed medical condition.
At the time, the band had posted, “We are absolutely devastated that we cannot continue this tour and share these remaining shows with you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love, messages and support you have already sent Angry and the band.”
Today, however, the band revealed that their singer had suffered a cardiac arrrest.
“We would like to let everyone know that Angry suffered a cardiac arrest and is currently in hospital receiving treatment and the care he needs,” the post on their socials reads. “At this time, we kindly ask that you please respect the privacy of Angry and his family as they focus on Angry, his treatment and his recovery. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and ask that you continue to keep Angry and his family in your thoughts and prayers during the days ahead.
“We are incredibly grateful for the love and support that has already been shown,” the post added. “It is comforting to know just how many people are thinking of Angry and wishing him strength in his recovery.”
Rose Tattoo were out on the road for what they had declared to be their final tour. The band was planning a last-ever Australian show on New Year’s Eve as a celebration of their 50th anniversary, followed by a brace of shows in the US next year. An album has also been recorded.
