ACE Frehley’s family has confirmed his death following a brain bleed suffered in a fall. He was 74.
“We are completely devastated and heartbroken,” the family said in a statement.
“In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth.
“We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others.
“The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions, and beyond comprehension. Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements, Ace’s memory will continue to live on forever!”
The former KISS guitarist recently suffered a fall at his home studio and cancelled all his remaining dates for the year.
On Thursday, Tool’s Maynard Keenan, Poison’s Rikki Rockett and media figures Mitch Lafon and Jason Green were among those who led their followers to believe Frehley had died.
However, celebrity news site TMZ initially said Frehley was on life support. He had not improved during several days on the ventilator and his family was considering turning it off, the site said.
Rolling Stone later reported Frehley’s death, making him the first original member of KISS to die but third overall, following fellow guitarist Mark St John and drummer Eric Carr,
