THE FOUNDING KISS spaceman Ace Frehley has been hospitalised following an incident at his home studio. Unfortunately, this has also forced the guitarist to cancel a scheduled performance.
A statement released across Ace’s social media channels on Thursday confirmed the news for his “Rock Soldiers.” According to the post, Frehley had a minor fall which required a visit to the hospital.
“He is fine, but against his wishes, his doctor insists that he refrain from travel at this time,” the statement explained.
As a result, Frehley has been forced to pull out of his appearance at the Antelope Valley Fair in Lancaster, California, which was set to take place on Friday, September 26. Despite his own setback, the legendary guitarist encouraged fans to still attend the event to “support his friends in Quiet Riot and Vixen.”
The announcement also looked toward the future, reassuring fans that Ace plans to resume his tour soon. It also confirmed he is looking forward to “finishing work on his next album, ‘Origins Vol. 4’.” This is likely a reference to the third instalment of his popular covers series, Origins.
Frehley’s current touring band features Ryan Spencer on bass, Jeremy Asbrock on guitar, and Scot Coogan behind the drum kit. The guitarist’s next scheduled performance is slated for October 11 at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri.
Once released later this year, the new record will mark Frehley’s ninth solo studio effort and the follow-up to 2024’s “10,000 Volts.” You can check out the title track in the embedded player below. We wish the Spaceman a speedy recovery.
