GUITARIST Joe Perry says Aerosmith has “options” connected to performing live again.

The ‘Smiffs cut short a tour and announced their retirement three years ago due to singer Steven Tyler’s vocal injury but since then he has performed numerous times, most notable at Black Sabbath’s Back To The Beginning last July.

“You just never know,” Perry told Billboard.

“It’s just been in the last six months that Steven‘s started to get comfortable with singing; he literally had to take a year off before he was able to start stretching his vocal cords, and you’re always worried about reinjuring it.

“I learned a long time ago that everything we do is fragile… so we just take it day by day. You hope for the best. You just have to have the confidence and have that vision of positive in front of you. You can’t do it unless you envision it.”

The tour which was cut short was called Peace Out and was intended to be a farewell. Any return for Aerosmith would mean Tyler’s injury actually extended the band’s live career, at least on the calendar.

Perry, 75, has been touring with Joe Perry Project and another of his side bands, the Hollywood Vampires, returns to duty in August.
