SKID Row singer Erik Gronwall says the aftermath of his bone marrow transplant two years ago is responsible for illness which has forced the postponement of shows this week.

The New Jersey band was unable to play a date in Lynn, Massachussets, on Monday and another in Portland, Maine last night because Gronwall woke up ill at the start of the week.

On both nights, supports Buckcherry headlined. Gronwall is a leukemia survivor.

“For those of you who don’t know, two years ago I did a bone marrow transplant,” Gronwall said in a Facebook video

“And a bone marrow transplant comes with an impaired immune system so if I get a flu or a cold it hits me a little bit harder than before.

“And it takes me a bit longer for my immune system to recover.”

He later reported he was suffering from strep throat, a potentially serious condition.
