SLASH is putting out an all-star blues covers album and the first single has been released.

Orgy Of The Damned will feature such luminaries as pop star Demi Lovato and a cover of a 1964 Howlin Wolf standard has dropped. AC/DC’s 76-year-old Brian Johnson is in fine form on the track, “The Killing Floor”.

As if that’s not enough, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler plays harmonica on the track.

Slash said: “Announcing my new album Orgy Of The Damned … made up of some my favourite blues classics recorded with some of my favourite artists, will be available on May 17th…

“The first song “Killing Floor” – a cover of Howlin’ Wolf’s iconic song done with my good friend Brian Johnson – is out today!”

The 12-track album will feature appearances by Chris Robinson, Billy Gibbons, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers and others.

The man with the most famous top hat in the world did have a blues project, Slash’s Blues Ball, in the 1990s. They toured but did not record. Bassist Johnny Griparic and keyboardist Teddy Andreadis from that project are on Orgy Of The Damned along with drummer Michael Jerome and singer/guitarist Tash Neal.
