A DRIVER has been charged following a fatal car accident that claimed the life of death metal musician Joshua Ward and three other people on New Year’s Eve.

Thirty-seven-year old Ward, his fiancee Zelena and two others died around 9pm on December 31 when their vehicle was struck by a drunk driver in Greenville, South Carolina. Nicolas Meeks, 31, has been charged with four counts of felony DUI.

Ward was the drummer for Voraath, an SC death metal band whose debut album, Vol 1:  The Hymn of the Hunters, was released in June to some acclaim. He leaves behind a young son, Kai. A GoFundMe has been set up for Ward’s family that has currently collected over $US22,000 of a $24K total.
