WHEN David Coverdale retired, he deleted his social media accounts. We’ve received another reminder in the last 24 hours that Dee Snider has not followed his example.
Snider was asked about tribute acts and their legal ability to play other people’s material by a follower on Twitter.
“I hate them,” he answered. “Tribute acts are non-creative garbage.”
When someone responded that the musicians in these bands have the right to earn a living, 71-year-old Snider said: A person asked me what I as a person think of tribute bands. As a person I gave my (singular) opinion.
“Others can have their own.
“Clearly my opinion affects nothing. I hate golf too. Seems to be a very successful pastime in spite of my long standing feelings about it.”
Snider recently bowed out of Twisted Sister dates, which were subsequently cancelled. The band has since replaced him with Sebastian Bach and announced new dates.
I hate them. Tribute acts are non creative garbage. And you are correct about the compensation. https://t.co/Twhv0ua1US
