DAYS after being shown getting friendly with some local fauna, Skid Row singer Erik Gronwall came down with a case of the flu so bad that last night’s tour-opening gig in Brisbane was cancelled.

Plenty of Hot Metal readers were inconsolable at missing the chance to see the New Jersey titans at The Triffid, the cancellation announced just a few hours before the show.

“Unfortunately we have to cancel our sold out show in Brisbane tonight,” the band said in a statement.
This morning Erik woke up feeling sick and by sound check he was losing his voice and was feeling the effects of a full blown flu.
He will see a doctor first thing tomorrow and expects that it will be all systems go for Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and want you to know we are as disappointed as all of you.”
The tour is due to continue in Sydney tomorrow, giving Gronwall a night off to attempt to overcome the symptoms of his illness.
