SINGER Andrew Freeman, who has departed Great White and The End Machine in recent times, is also no longer a member of Dio-focused Last In Line.

Vinny Appice, who was the drummer in Dio and joined another former band-mate from those days in Vivian Campbell the outfit, revealed the departure on Sirius XM on Wednesday afternoon.

“We parted ways with Andy Freeman, the singer, and we’re looking for singers actually,” he told the Faction Talk station.

“He’s play a Dio (tribute) show, Dio Rules. He didn’t really want to play that stuff with us, which is ..  go figure.

“And now he’s doing all Dio stuff. Crazy.”

Asked on the Trunk Nation show why Freeman and Last In Line had parted ways, Appice answered: “It got a lot of tension between us and one of the last shows, the M3 (Festival in Maryland), there were things he commented to the audience.

“People were scratching their heads, ‘what’s up with that?’

“He’s his own thing, you know? Finally we just said it would be a lot smoother to find another singer. So that’s what we’re doing.”

Last In Line – completed by bassist Phil Soussan who replaced Jimmy Bain upon his death in 2016 – have released three albums in the style of Dio’s music: Heavy Crown, II and Jericho.

Appice told host Eddie Trunk: “We’ve got a (record) deal in place. Viv’s busy with Leopard and he’s been doing a lot of rally racing.

“So we’re trying schedule finishing our next record and then playing some dates because we have a lot of fun playing.

“We don’t have any prospects. We can set something up … kind of like Skid Row did where they set people up and they were sending in videos and singing.”
