EIGHTIES icon Billy Squier has released his first rock song in 30 years, “Harder On A Woman”.
Squier is best known for his slightly naughty 1981 single “The Stroke”, which reached no.5 on the ARIA charts in Australia.
But he’s been almost completely absent from rock music for decades, receiving handsome royalties from samples taken from his songs and used in hiphop.
Squier returned with an interview on Sirius XM and the debut of his new single, which showcases his trademark howl but perhaps utilises a bit less heft in the guitar department.
Squier released a tribute to Freddie Mercury in 1998 and has had many and varied creative projects in the years since – but no rock singles.
