FANS are concerned Greta Van Fleet have broken up after they posted “thanks for the wild ride”.
Of course it could be just a very clever promotion for a new album called The Wild Ride … but no-one is quite sure. The video post was shown across Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Instagram and was immediately picked up upon by rock’s trade press.
The Led Zeppelin sound-a-likes haven’t released an album since 2023’s Starcatcher and haven’t played live since 2024, lending weight to speculation of a dissolution.
“Thanks for the wild ride … Love, Josh, Jake, Sam & Daniel.” reads the message at the beginning and end of the 50-second video posted on all platforms.
Certainly, someone has taken the message seriously enough to change the text of their Wikipedia entry from “Greta Van Fleet is a band” to “Greta Van Fleet was a band”. When we last checked, it had been changed back.
Keen fans, however, noted that some of the music in the video was new – which is hardly consistent with a signing-off message.
