THRASH titans Anthrax have announced an Australian odyssey.
It will be Scott Ian and co’s first visit to these shores since 2019, a four-date run through Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney with a couple of days off built in. It’s theatre-level venues – Fortitude Music Hall, Hindley Street Music Hall, Festival Hall and the Enmore.
Almost immediately there was social media push to get the reformed Mortal Sin on the bill as supports.
It’s been almost a decade since the accomplished For All Kings album and the New York moshers are putting the finishing touches on a follow-up. Drummer Charlie Benante recently announced via a Facebook story that has since expired that the band had finished mixing the album
Bassist Frank Bello recently said: “The new Anthrax record, I’m proud to say, I’m very psyched about this, that it’s mixing, and now we get to hear the whole thing of it. And just to hear them really come to life now after all that, and, really, the parts are all done. Everything’s locked in. And to hear what they’re gonna sound like for when people hear it, as a fan of the band, it’s, like, ‘Fuck yeah!’ You get hungry and you’re ready and you know you have the goods. So we’re pretty psyched.”
Monday, March 23: Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane
Wednesday, March 25: Hindley St. Music Hall, Adelaide
Thursday, March 26: Festival Hall, Melbourne
Saturday, March 28: Enmore Theatre, Sydney
