NINETIES rock giants Ugly Kid Joe and Soul Asylum will tour Australia together in March.
Interestingly, the respective bands of Whitfield Crane and Dave Pirner have never toured together and Soul Asylum have not been to Oz since 1995.
Hot Metal recently reviewed Soul Asylum in London, giving the overall gig – including support James Brute – three skulls.
Western Australian fans will be rejoicing as the tour will not only take in Perth but start there, the tour starting at the Astor Theatre on March 15 and concluding in Brisbane six days later.
The bands have two days off if no shows are added.
WHITEFIELD CRANE AUDIO INTERVIEW
Soul Asylum recently released a live acoustic album called MPLS Unplugged. Aside from Pirner, the longest-serving member is drummer Michael Bland, who’s been around since 2005.
Jeremy Tappero has been on bass since 2020 and Ryan Smith on guitar since 2016.
Ugly Kid Joe is build around the core of singer Crane and guitarist Klaus Eichstadt – both have been there since the band’s inception in 1987. Bassist Cordell Crocket joined in 1991, rhythm guitarist Dave Fortman in 1992 and drummer Cam Greenwood in 2022.
They are still supporting the highly HM-recommended Rad Wings Of Destiny which has plenty of AC/DC references, released in 2022.
