THE Saints ’73-’78, paying tribute to exactly what it says on the tin, have announced a new album and tour.
Of course, given their name, it’s not exactly going to be ‘new’. Instead it’s a live LP recorded in 1976.
After touring across Australia, the UK and the United States, The Saints ’73-’78 will return for a series of Australian dates to mark the 50th anniversary of (I’m) Stranded.
The lineup features original members Ed Kuepper and Ivor Hay, joined by Mick Harvey, Peter Oxley and Mark Arm.
The live album, recorded to cassette in September 1976 at Club ’76 in Brisbane, contains 15 tracks drawn largely from (I’m) Stranded, several songs later released on Eternally Yours and a number of covers.
The gig recorded pre-dates the sessions for (I’m) Stranded.
Titled The Saints: Live @ Club ’76, Brisbane, it is due for release on Friday, November 20 , via the band’s website, with further details to follow.
In October and November, The Saints are touring the UK with The Damned.
