IN CASE you missed it, the story of the week revolves around Baltimore hardcore band End It, who appear to have gone into hiding following a dumb incident at a show in Toronto.
In a story first posted on Reddit and subsequently reported by NME, a fan was singled out and set upon by the crowd for wearing a banana costume at the band’s show in Canada on June 5.
The fan, who was called to the front and accused of attention-seeking by End It’s vocalist Akil Godsey, was then punished by being tackled to the ground and having his costume stripped from him.
He later called the band out on Instagram: “Two of your band members crossed the line … and I’m obligated to speak on it. Fuck the police? While policing what people wear? The message last night; Conform or get called out, exactly the opposite of what hardcore is supposed to be.”
True.
Damaging their hardcore credentials even further, End It has made no statement about the incident and now seem to be on the down-low, deleting their socials and replacing their official website with a “content unavailable” message.
All mention of the band has been removed from press for an upcoming European tour by Hatebreed and Life of Agony, on which End It was meant to be featuring.
