SLIPKNOT have finally confirmed the departure of DJ and keyboardist Sid Wilson – in a post the band subsequently deleted.
Wilson’s departure was first reported by TMZ at the start of the month but no announcement was forthcoming; the 49-year-old subsequently described himself as being “of Slipknot” during a public appearance.
But they have finally posted a statement which read: “Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson.
“We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
The post remains on the Knotfest accounts but has been removed from the band’s accounts. No-one seems to know why.
Wilson is one of the band’s ‘classic’ nine members from the back end of the 20th century, joining in 1998 and playing on their debut album.
Craig Jones and Chris Fehn have left while Joey Jordison and Paul Gray are dead.
Since the drama unfolded, Wilson – who proposed to Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter Kelly at Back To The Beginning – has faced a soap opera in that area too.
The couple is no longer together, Osbourne saying on Instagram: “Strange how the loudest defense of the guilty is rarely innocence … It’s distraction.
“When the mask slips, they don’t face the mirror they throw it at someone else. I also heart that when you break a mirror you get 7 years bad luck!
“Or is that just karma? This is why I always take accountability! As they say some are sicker then [sic] others.”
