GROOVE metal giants Segression dominated the local metal scene in the late nineties and early 00s with gruelling live shows and a string of best-selling albums.

Following a resurgence in the 2010s with the albums Never Dead and Painted in Blood, they have been absent for most of the time since.

In recent months the band began to drip feed its entire back catalogue onto digital platforms, including 1995’s Rise From Darkness that was released under their original name, Eezee.

On Friday, Segression used their social media to announce a live return in celebration of their 30th anniversary this year. The first show will be a special performance in Sydney featuring an acoustic set, followed by a Q&A session and then another hour-long metal set. They also revealed the release of a best of album for May 5. Tickets will go on sale through Oztix from February 21
