KEYBOARDIST Melissa Reese will sit out Guns N’Roses’ upcoming tour dates, including those in Australia.
The band issued a statement the day before the first gig on the tour, in Monterrey Mexico, citing personal reasons for the absence of the 36-year-old. The Gunners did not say whether a replacement keyboardist would be hired.
The very brief statement read: ‘Melissa Reese will not be joining the band on tour due to unforeseen personal reasons. We hope our fans understand.”
A talented multi-instrumentalist who has a long association with former GN’R member Brian “Brain” Manta, Reese joined the band a decade ago.
Last year the Gunners changed drummers, with Frank Ferrer leaving to be replaced by Isaac Carpenter. GN’R are in Australian from December 2 to 14.
