GARBAGE singer Shirley Manson has moved to explain her actions in Melbourne’s so-called Beachballgate.
Manso copped it – virally and globally -after verbally attacking from the stage at the Good Things travelling festival stop in Melbourne last December a fan who had a beach ball.
“Oh, you’re getting rid of the balloon now, you big fuckin’ douche,” Manson, 59 said at the time over her mic.
“It’s disrespectful, and musicians (have) had enough. And we’re fed up not getting paid properly, and fed up having to play for douchebags like you.
“You’re a fuckin middle-aged man, in a fuckin’ ridiculous hat, and you’re a fuckin’ fuckface. I want to ask people to punch you in the fuckin’ face. But you know what, I’m a lady, so I won’t. But, truly, I would love to send my crew over to fuckin’ mess you up.
“And you know what, I won’t, because I pity you cause you’re a small man with a small dick.”
Addressing the outburst in the latest edition of Classic Rock magazine, Manson said: “I am taking full responsibility for my poor behaviour.
“I totally cracked.
“Literally a week previous to that event, I’d buried my father – who I was very close to. It’s been very difficult and it remains to be.
“But I take full responsibility for the fact I was an idiot and rose to the bait and then I had to live with the repurcussions of that.
“But please don’t think I’m going ‘oh, poor me’.”
