THERE’S been a flood of rock docs in recent months but nu-metal tsars Linkin Park clearly aren’t worried about that.
After playing Rock AM Ring two weekends ago, they quietly released a trailer for something called Unshatter, which appears to document the rebirth of the band after the death of singer Chester Bennington in 2017.
Linkin relaunched with a new singer, Emily Armstrong, in 2024.
Producing the film is long-time Linkin Park associate Joe Hahn, who as well as being a band member has been responsible for the visual side of LP’s image for many years.
After touring Australia earlier this year, Linkin Park have also ticked off Download at Donington in the UK in the last few days.
The tagline of the new film – which is just ‘coming soon’ – is “the hardest part of ending is starting again”. The URL unshattermovie.com was included in tour merchandise without any explanation – the first most fans heard of it.
A show at Allianz Parque in São Paulo, Brazil on November 15, 2024 was filmed but never released – suggesting this footage may form a big part of the mysterious film.
