SHEFFIELD rock legends Def Leppard are set to be immortalised with their own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. The ceremony will cement their place among music royalty on one of the world’s most famous boulevards.
The band will receive the 2,825th star in a special event scheduled for Thursday, October 9, at 11:30 a.m. PT. In a nod to the rock fraternity, fellow icon Jon Bon Jovi will be a guest speaker at the ceremony. He will be joined by Bruce Resnikoff, the president and CEO of Universal Music Enterprises (UMe). The event will be hosted by Sirius XM radio personality Bob Buchmann.
For fans keen to tune in from Australia, the ceremony will be streamed live on the official Walk of Fame website. The star itself will be placed at 1750 N. Vine Street, a fitting location right in front of the legendary Capitol Records building.
Ana Martinez, the producer for the Walk of Fame, celebrated the band’s inclusion. “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Def Leppard to the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” she stated. “Def Leppard has earned a permanent place not only in music history, but now on one of the most famous sidewalks in the world.”
This honour follows their 2019 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The band, which includes Joe Elliott, Phil Collen, Rick Savage, Vivian Campbell and Rick Allen, boasts an incredible legacy. They have two Diamond-certified albums in the US, Pyromania and the 12-times platinum behemoth Hysteria.
On top of this massive honour, there’s more good news for fans. In a recent interview, frontman Joe Elliott confirmed that the band is currently working on a new album. While the full record isn’t expected until late 2026 or early 2027, he revealed a plan to “drip feed” new tracks to fans. Elliott suggested the first new song could drop as early as next February, with another to follow before their British tour in June.
