ON a big day for tour announcements, LA grunge icons L7 and former Judas Priest singer Ripper Owens have announced they are heading to Australia.
L7 will be playing their seminal 1992 release Bricks Are Heavy in full on their trek which takes in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne starting on December 8.
Owens will be in the country much sooner, playing just two shows – in Sydney and Melbourne – in May.
His guitarist Joel McDonald said on Facebook: “Unable to deny his fondness for all things Australian: our beer, our women, and my indulgent guitar stylings, Tim Ripper Owens will return to play two shows in Oz to celebrate the release of his latest album Return To Death Row. There will be material from the new record along with Ripper era Priest and other favourites.
“And my oh my what a band we have for these shows! Jordan McDonald (drums), Voya Milutinovic (guitar), Andrew Hudson (bass) Yours truly (guitar)!”
