GRIEVING Quireboys frontman Spike Gray is adamant the final songs written by his close friend and bandmate Guy Bailey will surface soon.
Bailey, who wrote all the songs on the British band’s 1990 debut A Bit Of What You Fancy, died of unknown causes over Easter.
He had recently been professionally reunited with Spike after the singer was booted out of the Quireboys in 2022.
“For the Quireboys fans out there I would just like to say, me and Guy Bailey have written the songs for a new album,” Spike wrote on Facebook.
“And me and Chris Johnstone, Nigel Mogg, and Rudy Richman will fulfil his wishes that these songs are recorded and a new Quireboys album will be released this year.”
“So everyone raise a glass for Guy Bailey and let’s keep rock ‘n’ roll alive for him.”
