JIMMY Barnes has turned his version of “Rock’n’Roll Is King” into a charity single.
The omnipresent Cold Chisel frontman released the song, a leftover recording from a previous album, shortly after Angry Anderson’s death from a heart attack on September 21.
How he has produced a lyric video and digital download plus souvenir t-shirts and hoody which will benefit a show business charity.
Barnes wrote: “Today, we’ve just released a new lyric video, with edit and animation by Rachael Johnston. Check it out.
“We’ve also released exclusive, limited edition Rock ’n’ Roll Is King merch, and a digital download of the song – with proceeds from sales going to Support Act, who provide much needed crisis relief and mental health support to musicians, crew and music workers doing it tough.”

The track is a cover of the Rose Tattoo classic that first appeared on the band’s 1981 album Assault & Battery.
Barnes had spoken with Anderson about recording the song before the singer’s death and had cut the version with an 2025’s Defiant album in mind.
Streaming services and the singer’s official online store now carry both the single and the accompanying merchandise.
