US HARDCORE stalwarts Shai Hulud and German power metal band Freedom Call have both cancelled their planned Australian tours.

Both tours have been canned due to low ticket sales.

Shai Hulud were to appear at the Perth leg of Froth & Fury as part of a wider tour. Promoter Southern Extremities made the announcement yesterday, part of which says: “We are sorry to say due to a variety of factors, most pertinently ticket sales in some locations, SEP and EET have made the incredibly tough decision to cancel the SHAI HULUD January tour.”

In similar circumstances, Freedom Call’s proposed May visit has also been cancelled, also, according to promoter Stormrider Touring, because of slow ticket sales.

Froth & Fury have since announced that Shai Hulud will not be replaced on the festival bill. Tickets for both tours can be refunded from the point of sale.
