GUNS N’Roses have accompanied a new tour announcement with the news they will be releasing fresh music early next month.
If “fresh” is not an exactly accurate description the two singles by the LA titans, then perhaps they are more warmed over. “Nothin'” and “Atlas” date to the Chinese Democracy sessions of some 20 years ago.
Reports are that, as with other recent singles such as “Hard Skool”, “Absurd” and “The General”, the two songs – released December 2 – have been reworked with input from Slash and Duff McKagan.
Despite repeated talk of new material from the Gunners, there is little indication of truly original material from the current line-up and insiders remain cynical about the chances of it happening – perhaps ever.
The tour, meanwhile, runs from March 28 in Moterrey Mexico to September 19 in Atlanta Georgia, anchored by Download at Donington on June 12. There are no Australasian dates.
