CO-FOUNDER of New York proto-punk rockers The Dictators, guitarist Scott Kempner, has died.
Kempner died on November 29 in a Connecticut nursing home suffering from early-onset dementia. He was 69.
Scott Kempner was asked to joined the embryonic Dictators in 1972 and remained with them through their various reformations and line-ups until 2019 when his condition forced him to retire. Concurrently with the Dictators, Kempner was also founder of the Americana act The Del-Lords and released three solo albums during his 50-year recording career.
