FOO Fighters guitarist Pat Smear has followed in the ill-fated footsteps of Spinal Tap drummer John “Stumpy” Pepys and will miss an upcoming trip to Tasmania
The fictional skinsman’s “bizarre gardening accident” made him one of many ‘Tap drummers to meet a nasty demise and now Smear is going to to miss a number of shows after also coming off second best in his last encounter with his backyard.
“In the classic tradition of rockstars having bizarre gardening accidents, Pat Smear has apparently rung in the new year by smashing the shit out of his left foot,” the band announced on social media.
