FOO Fighters have confirmed a nine-date Australasian tour for November and January – with an unusual Christmas gap in the middle.

Dave Grohl’s outfit will visit Brisbane, Townsville, Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne and Adelaide between November 5 and 17 … and this disappear for two months. On January 19, the tour resumes in Christchurch before moving onto Auckland and skipping right across the continent to wrap things. up in Perth on January 25.

There, support will come from HM-approved rockers The Southern River Band.

One can only assume Southeast Asian dates will fill the void but so far these have not been announced.

The tour follows a celebrated one-off Launceston date on January 24, during which frontman Grohl promised to return to Oz before his next birthday. Australia, where the Fooeys hace had nine number one albums, is arguably their strongest territory.

In New Zealand, they’ll perform at Christchurch’s One New Zealand Stadium which is only due to be completed this coming April.

Other bands previously covered here who have won opening slots include Downgirl in Townsville and C.O.F.F.I.N. in Newcastle.
