WITH ads for their tour still playing across social media platforms, Swedish rockers Eclipse have announced they are cancelling their Australian appearances next week.

Just five days out from the first show in Melbourne, a Facebook post on the band’s official profile explains the tour will no longer be going ahead. Citing problems with agreed terms and conditions, the post declares Eclipse are left with “no choice but to cancel”.

The last-minute cancellation is another blow for tour promoter Silverback, already facing a storm in the wake of March’s cancellation of Trixter’s tour and explosive media posts by Tuff’s Stevie Rachelle.

The Eclipse drama is another in a series of setbacks from Australia’s touring scene over recent months. Visits from Vader and Evergrey have been pushed back to later in the year due to the Iran conflict, and death metal veterans Sadistic Intent were unable to procure travel documents for their proposed tour last month.
