LIFE ON the road for most rock bands is far from glamorous – but one singer from the NSW Central Coast drew the line in Newcastle (UK) last week.
“This bunch of disgusting animals thinking this is acceptable,” the Lazys’ Leon Harrison posted on Facebook, alongside photos of at Tyneside lodging. The pictures appeared to show mould, dirty sheets and leftover litter from previous guests.
“Mate, they should be closed down and locked up the filthy scum! Fuck did they get a piece of my mind!”
The Lazys just did a run of five shows in as many days in Europe and the UK and have moved onto Canada, where they had considerable success before Covid.
Rhythm guitarist Liam Shearer returned to Australia after the European dates to attend to family business, while drummer Andy Nielsen missed the European dates and was replaced by Canadian Tommy-Lee Metcalfe. Jack of all trades Kenny Holt is likely to replace Shearer in Canada.
In Europe, they were joined by German band Sweet Electric, fronted by Australian Brad Marr. They had their own problems, their van broken into and a number of items including a leather jacket and a laptop stolen right outside the venue.
The most recent release from The Lazys was the single “Too Tough To Die”, out in March.
